A qualified translator and former lawyer who specialises in legal translation from Russian and German into English, I spent over eight years studying and then practising law in the City of London and in Moscow and began translating in the field of law back in 1991. As a lawyer I gained considerable experience of banking, company and commercial law and worked for a number of years in the Projects Department of one of London's leading international law firms.
- I am on the freelance panels of numerous translation providers and am in particular demand from agencies based in the UK and Germany. In 2013 I became contracted to provide German to English translations to the European Court of Justice
- Direct clients, past and present, include the Moscow offices of Allen & Overy and UNICEF, Chatham House’s Russia and Eurasia Programme, the Centre for European Reform and a major energy company.
- A member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) and of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), I adhere to the ITI’s Code of Professional Conduct.
